GMGN referral code: what the discount gives you

How the GMGN referral link works in 2026: it binds on first login, trims the 1% trading fee on invite codes that pass on a discount, and pays referrers 10–30%.

Disclosure: Some links in this article are referral links. If you sign up through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It doesn't affect what we write. How we make money.

Key takeaways

  • GMGN charges a flat 1% on every trade, per its fees page. Priority and tip fees go to Solana validators, not to GMGN.
  • A referral link binds a code to your account the first time you log in. Many invite codes pass on 10% off the 1% fee, making it 0.9%, but GMGN doesn't publish a fixed discount for new users.
  • Referrers earn 10–30% of the fees their invitees pay (GMGN's docs), and higher rates are granted on application to accounts that bring in more volume.
  • The code has to be in place before your first login. The docs describe no way to add one to an existing account.

The GMGN referral link attaches a code to your account the first time you log in. That code decides who earns a share of your trading fees and, on codes that pass part of that share back, trims GMGN’s standard 1% fee. Most invite codes that offer a discount advertise 10% off, making the fee 0.9%. GMGN doesn’t publish a fixed rate for new users, so check the fee in your trade panel after you sign up.

How to apply the GMGN referral code

According to GMGN’s referral docs, the website and the Telegram bots share one referral code. The code binds automatically when you arrive through a referral link and log in. There’s no field for typing it in later.

  1. Open GMGN through the referral link in a fresh browser session, before you have ever logged in.
  2. Click Connect Telegram (or press Start in the GMGN Telegram bot if the link opened Telegram). This first login creates your GMGN trading wallets and binds the code.
  3. Go to the deposit page and fund your wallet with the chain’s native coin (SOL on Solana, ETH on Ethereum or Base, BNB on BNB Chain). Pick the matching network: a deposit sent on the wrong network can’t be recovered.
  4. Before you trade, set up Google Authenticator and a whitelisted withdrawal address. GMGN won’t let you withdraw until both are done, and it adds a 3-hour hold after you first set or change the whitelist.
  5. Place a small test trade and check the fee line in the transaction details.

If you already have a GMGN account: the docs describe no way to change or add a referral code later. Assume your current fee stays as it is.

What the discount is worth

GMGN’s fees page gives a flat 1% per trade, charged on buys and sells alike. Its own example: a 1 SOL trade pays 0.01 SOL to GMGN. A 10% discount cuts that to 0.009 SOL.

Here is what that looks like for an active memecoin trader. A round trip is one buy plus one sell.

Monthly activityVolume (buys + sells)Fee at 1%Fee at 0.9%Saved
20 round trips of $250$10,000$100$90$10
60 round trips of $500$60,000$600$540$60
150 round trips of $1,000$300,000$3,000$2,700$300

Two things to keep in mind:

  • Priority and tip fees aren’t covered. They go to Solana validators and private nodes, not GMGN. The docs suggest 0.002–0.005 SOL per transaction for normal trades and 0.006 SOL or more for automated limit orders. At 300 transactions a month, that alone is 0.6–1.8 SOL, whatever code you used.
  • Launchpad and pool fees stack on top. Tokens traded on launchpads such as Pump.fun carry their own platform fee, separate from GMGN’s 1%.

The discount is real money if you trade often, but it won’t rescue a bad trade. Memecoins routinely drop 80–100% within hours, and 0.1% off the fee is small next to that.

How the GMGN referral program works for referrers

GMGN’s referral cooperation page sets the referrer rebate at 10% to 30% of your invitees’ trading fees. The more volume you bring in, the higher the rate. Some third-party guides cite up to 35% for the largest partners, a figure the docs don’t confirm. Rates above the base aren’t automatic: you apply through a Google form once your referral code is live.

How it works in practice:

  • Getting your code: log in with Telegram on gmgn.ai and read the ref parameter in the address bar, or open the GMGN bot and check the referral section.
  • Link formats: GMGN supports links to the homepage, a specific chain, a token page or a wallet page, all carrying your code. Links into the main GMGN bot count web and bot trades on any chain.
  • Tracking: commission reports are split by chain (Solana, Ethereum, Base, Tron) on GMGN’s referral page.
  • Telegram groups: community admins can add GMGN’s contract-check and smart-money alert bots to a group and ask for their referral code to be attached to the bot’s buttons.

The limits: rebates are paid on fees, not on profit or deposits. An invitee who signs up and never trades earns you nothing. And because the code only binds at first login, you can’t claim users who already have accounts.

If you’re going to use GMGN anyway, yes. There’s no downside to arriving through a link, and codes that pass on a discount lower every trade you make. Frequently asked questions

Does GMGN have a referral code?

Yes. Every GMGN user gets a referral code, and it is the same on the website and in the Telegram bots. Signing up through a link that contains a code binds it to your account automatically.

How much does the GMGN referral code save?

GMGN's standard fee is 1% per trade. Invite codes that pass on a discount usually advertise 10% off, which brings the fee to 0.9%. GMGN doesn't publish one official invitee rate, so check the fee shown in your trade panel after signing up.

Can I add a GMGN referral code to an existing account?

GMGN's docs only describe binding a code through a link at first login, and they give no way to add one later. If you already have an account, assume the fee you pay now is the one you keep.

How much do GMGN referrers earn?

GMGN's documentation puts the referrer rebate at 10% to 30% of the trading fees paid by invitees. Referrers can apply through a form for a higher rate once they bring in significant volume.
