Fomo referral code: how the lower 0.45% fee works
The Fomo app referral code cuts the standard trading fee from 0.50% to 0.45% for life. How to apply it at sign-up, what it saves, and how referrers earn 25%.

Key takeaways
- Signing up to Fomo with a referral code gives you 10% off trading fees for as long as you keep the account. The standard 0.50% fee becomes 0.45%.
- The code has to be applied on the sign-up screen. There's no field to add one afterwards, though support can attach a code if a referral link failed to record.
- On a $1,000 trade at the standard rate, you pay $4.50 instead of $5.00.
- Referrers earn 25% of their referees' trading fees, paid into their Fomo cash balance. On Solana, the referee's first buy doesn't count.
A Fomo referral code gives you 10% off trading fees for the life of your account. The standard 0.50% fee becomes 0.45% on every trade, as of September 2026. The code has to be applied when you sign up, so it only helps new accounts.
How to apply the Fomo referral code
According to Fomo’s help article on referral codes and fee discounts, the code is attached on the sign-up screen, and the app has no field for adding one later.
- Open Fomo through the referral link on your phone, or at fomo.family on desktop.
- Install the iOS or Android app if prompted, and sign up with your Apple ID or Google account. Fomo creates a Solana wallet and an EVM wallet for you. There’s no seed phrase to write down.
- Check that the referral code is filled in on the sign-up screen before you finish.
- Deposit with a debit card, Apple Pay, Pay with Coinbase, or USDC sent from another wallet. If you send USDC, select the same network in Fomo that you’re sending from (Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad or Ethereum). Funds sent on a mismatched network won’t show up.
- Make a trade. The discount is applied automatically, with nothing to switch on.
If you already have an account: you can’t enter a code yourself. If you signed up through a link but no referrer was recorded, open Profile → Settings → Help and Support → Contact Support and ask to be attached to that code. Remember which login you used: signing in with a different Apple ID or Google account creates a new, separate account.
What the discount is worth
Fomo’s fee page sets the standard rate at 0.50% per trade. On Solana, Fomo also covers gas, priority fees and token rent. On Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain, network fees come on top.
| Monthly activity | Volume (buys + sells) | Fee at 0.50% | Fee at 0.45% | Saved |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One $1,000 trade | $1,000 | $5.00 | $4.50 | $0.50 |
| 20 round trips of $500 | $20,000 | $100 | $90 | $10 |
| 50 round trips of $1,000 | $100,000 | $500 | $450 | $50 |
The small-order catch. On Solana, orders under 190 USDC don’t use the percentage rate:
| Solana order size | Fomo fee |
|---|---|
| Under 5 USDC | Flat 0.10 USDC |
| 5 to 47.50 USDC | 2% of the order |
| 47.50 to 190 USDC | Flat 0.95 USDC |
| 190 USDC and above | 0.50% (0.45% with a referral) |
A $20 Solana buy costs $0.40 in fees, and a $100 buy costs $0.95, close to 1%. Fomo doesn’t say whether the referral discount reduces these flat bands, so count on the saving only from 190 USDC up. If you trade small, the order size affects your costs far more than the code does.
Select major tokens carry a lower 0.05% rate, with a flat minimum of no more than 0.50 USDC on orders under 1,000 USDC.
How Fomo referrals work for referrers
Every Fomo user has a referral link: fomo.family/r/ followed by your username. You’ll find it under the gift icon on your profile.
- You earn 25% of your referees’ trading fees. On a referee paying 0.45%, that’s about 0.11% of their volume. A friend trading $20,000 a month pays $90 in fees, and you get $22.50.
- Solana exception: a referee’s first Solana buy earns you nothing. Every trade after it does. EVM trades (Base, BNB Chain, Monad) count from the first one.
- Payout timing: Solana earnings land in your cash balance inside the referee’s trade. EVM earnings build up and pay out in batches, usually once or twice a day. The rewards screen shows your lifetime total, not a balance to claim.
- Referrer changes: once a referrer is recorded it can’t be removed, but support can switch it to another username.
- Affiliate tier: creators and publishers can apply at fomo.family/affiliates for higher rates, bonus tiers and an affiliate manager. Fomo doesn’t publish those rates.
The limits: Fomo’s terms ban self-referral, including referring second accounts you control, and let Fomo claw back rewards or change the program at any time.
Before you sign up
Fomo is a phone-first memecoin app, and the fee discount doesn’t reduce the risk of what you trade. Most memecoins lose nearly all their value, and a 0.05% saving matters little if a token drops 70% overnight. Read our Fomo app review for custody, deposits and weak spots. If you’re weighing it against a desktop terminal, the Axiom vs GMGN vs Fomo comparison sets fees side by side, and the GMGN referral code page covers GMGN’s discount.
Frequently asked questions
What does the Fomo referral code give you?
A 10% discount on Fomo trading fees, which brings the standard 0.50% rate down to 0.45%. It applies automatically to every trade on the account.
Can I add a Fomo referral code after signing up?
Not yourself. Fomo's help centre says codes are applied on the sign-up screen only. If you signed up through a link and no referrer was recorded, you can ask support (Profile, Settings, Help and Support) to attach it.
How much do you earn from Fomo referrals?
Referrers earn 25% of the trading fees paid by people who sign up through their link. Earnings go straight into the referrer's cash balance with nothing to claim.
Does the Fomo referral discount apply to small Solana trades?
Small Solana orders under 190 USDC use flat fee bands instead of the 0.50% rate, and Fomo doesn't say whether the discount applies to them. The 0.45% rate definitely applies to orders priced at the standard rate.
